Teaching in Excellence Award

 I received the Chancellors Teaching in Excellence Award. It is so exciting to get the award because it is based on Student's Evaluations.  I love teaching so it is so nice to be rewarded by your students.   Several faculty from Tarleton were chosen for the award out of all the 11 System schools including A & M.

These are my colleagues who also received the award: Dr. Staples and Dr. Becker.  They are both wonderful teachers so I feel honored to be receiving the same ward as them.  Dr. Staples and I are both two time honorees of this award.

Clark, Ty, and Kyle. These were Kyle's students in Wellman.  They were favorites!!! Now they are both married... hard to believe they are old enough to be married!! We enjoyed tailgating with them.

It was Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Tech.  The band did a great job of performing and then ending with the famous ribbon.

Love this Lubbock Skyline.  This was the view from our suite. My school is right back there too that I taught in.

We had a great time in the suite... thanks to Southwest Dairy Farmers and Jim Hill.  We did not win the game but still had lots of fun.  We actually like the Pokes so when we lose to them it is not so bad.  I will say suites are fun but when I am at a Tech game I need to be in the crowd.. YELLING and CHEERING.

If you know me very well, I love to play in the yard.  One day I will have more time to invest in my yard.  This is what I get to enjoy everyday!  It is so fun to have plants that I can cut and have fresh flowers every day.  It is really easy too and affordable.

Margaret and I have been best friends since 8th grade. She is a wonderful dear friend. We have a blast together!!! We listened to Bon Jovi all the time together in high school!

You can get these in West Texas. Kyle and I were driving out to see our good friends son play in the second round of playoff games in Denver City. We were right outside Wellman were we used to live and I said, "We have to take a picture." One of the many things I miss about living out there...... Oh yea, and Crane won!!! Awesome 2A West Texas Football.. The real Friday night lights......

Sad and Happy

I am asking myself this question, "Is my Maggie really going to first grade?" She is so much fun and we had such a great summer together. She is smart, compassionate, witty, creative, faithful, funny, cute, friendly, and most of all she is my daughter whom I love so much.
I am sad to see her go to school on Monday but at the same time look forward to a wonderful year of her growing in to a more beautiful little girl than she already has become.
Thanks Maggie for being you!!! I will have to hold back the tears on Monday morning as I did last year with kindergarden but I did make it out the door so she wouldn't see me cry...
Growing up is harder on the parents I am starting to believe!!!!!
